The Carolina Hurricanes will help distribute Thanksgiving
meals to people in need on Tuesday.
Defenseman Jaccob Slavin along with forwards Jordan Martinook
and Sebastian Aho will be on site around 11 a.m. Tuesday to assist with meal
distribution at Lenovo Center.
Tuesday’s distribution helps families in need through the Food
Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Helping Hand Mission, Inter-Faith
Food Shuttle, Raleigh Rescue Mission, Urban Ministries of Wake County, The
Raleigh Dream Center and Table NC.
On Tuesday, program participants are invited to Lenovo
Center to pick up pre-packed Thanksgiving meals. Each meal kit will include a
turkey breast or ham, four large potatoes, apples, oranges and one pie.
Additional bulk items will be delivered directly to some partners for
distribution.
The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue
Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) and US Foods helped provide support
for the meal kits.
