Former Boston Bruins star Milan Lucic has been released from his professional tryout with the St. Louis Blues organization.

Lucic was attempting an NHL comeback and signed a tryout with the Blues before training camp began. However, he suffered an injury, which led to Lucic being released from his tryout.

The Blues’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, then signed Lucic to a tryout once he was healthy. He appeared in five games and recorded one assist and four penalty minutes.

However, on Tuesday, St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced that the team has terminated the AHL professional tryout for forward Milan Lucic.

Lucic last played in the NHL for the Bruins in the 2023-24 season, as he skated in four games. It was his return to Boston after spending the past eight seasons away.

Lucic played parts of nine seasons with the Bruins, skating in 570 regular-season games, recording 139 goals and 205 assists for 344 points.
