Jared McCann took part in the Kraken’s full morning skate, participated in special teams drills, and on and off the ice behaved like a player who was ready to go.
Seattle hosts the Dallas Stars with puck drop a few minutes after 7 pm pacific. The visitors are fresh off an 8-3 victory over the Oilers in Edmonton on Tuesday night, one that saw the Stars tally three power play goals.
McCann hasn’t played since October 18th in Toronto against the Maple Leafs. He’s missed 17 straight games with a lower body ailment. He and club didn’t indicate whether it was related to his off-season surgery.
The club’s all-time leading scorer and the team leader in each of the franchise’s four seasons, McCann brings some offensive punch the team has been lacking.
“He’s an offensive player, you can see it out there in practice, his ability to make plays,” Seattle head coach Lane Lambert said. “It’s an energy level boost from that standpoint, and he’s a guy who comes in and plays a role, plays a position, and potentially puts everyone else in a better position to do their job.”
The Kraken are 29th in the 32-team NHL with 2.59 goals for per game.
