The Chicago Blackhawks look to snap a three-game skid against the red-hot Minnesota Wild. The Wednesday before American Thanksgiving should bring a rowdy crowd to the United Center.

It has been an overall ugly three-game stretch for the Chicago Blackhawks. A heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Kraken and an embarrassment in Buffalo were followed up with a more respectable performance against a very good Colorado Avalanche team, but a three-game losing streak has pushed the Hawks out of a playoff spot.

There are still three games remaining at home before a short four-game western road trip, and the Blackhawks need to take advantage despite some tough opponents gracing the schedule.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Minnesota Wild Preview

As witnessed last season in the 6-2 drumming of the Dallas Stars, the United Center is rocking on American Thanksgiving Eve. Taylor Hall famously noted the ruckus of the crowd before Thanksgiving, with mention of cocktails being had by the fans. Regardless, there is no better night for the fans to show up and show out with the Minnesota Wild coming to town.

The Wild currently sit third in the Central Division, but there is quite a logjam in the NHL standings. Although they’re in a playoff position, they could easily find themselves jostling around the playoff picture over the coming weeks. The Wild are four points clear of the Blackhawks but have played one more game. However, the Wild are a scorching hot 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and have won five straight entering play on Wednesday.

As for the Hawks, we’ve already mentioned the three-game skid. Their two home performances far outweighed the dub of a loss to Buffalo on the road, but they will need to channel some of their play from Sunday on Wednesday.

The Wild are hot, just as the Avs were entering Sunday’s game. Ideally for Chicago, Andre Burakovsky’s full return to practice will ignite the offense and help deepen the team’s lineup.
