The second matchup featuring future NHL Draft picks is set for Wednesday night, as the Canadian Hockey League and United States Under-18 team meet in the final meeting of the 2025 CHL USA Prospects Challenge.

This is the second time the best draft-eligible prospects from the Canadian Hockey League have faced off with some of the brightest Americans in a clash of future NHLers. Last year, in Ontario, Team CHL dominated. With the likes of current NHLers Michael Misa and Matthew Schaefer, the Canadian squad dominated the U.S. Under-18 Team, outscoring them 9-3.

However, the Americans put up a solid effort in Calgary on Tuesday, pulling out a 4-2 win.

This year’s event has plenty of talent on both sides. On the CHL team, you will find stars like Windsor Spitfires scoring threat Ethan Belchetz and Vancouver Giants defenseman Ryan Lin. On top of that, Brantford Bulldogs center Caleb Malhotra and Niagara IceDogs power forward Ryan Roobroeck.

For the United States, players like Mikey Berchild and Casey Mutryn will have their hands full against a strong Canadian team. However, the one thing that the U.S. has going for them heading into the two-game showcase is that they have been playing together both in international events and exhibitions, as well as the United States Hockey League schedule so far this season.
