The Montreal Canadiens’ goaltender, Jakub Dobes, has quite a unique personality, and I love it.

As the Montreal Canadiens picked up a big win against the Utah Mammoth last night, by a score of 4-3, Jakub Dobes immediately rushed off to the locker room (even before receiving congratulations from his teammates).

It really made me laugh! I think it was the first time I’ve ever seen that after a Canadiens game.

A gesture from Jakub Dobes that is going viral

It’s a video that’s circulating widely on the web today and generating many reactions across the NHL. I unfortunately have to clarify this, to avoid any misunderstanding, but it’s not going viral because it’s a major controversy or a deplorable act by Dobes. Far from it!

It’s mainly generating reactions because fans find it funny, and it’s one of the first times we’ve seen a goaltender act this way after a win.

It must be said, there is probably a reason that explains Dobes’s quick exit to the locker room, because something happened on the ice right before that, and immediately at the end of the game. There was a scrum on the ice, and Dobes probably simply decided he didn’t want to get involved in it, so he left immediately.

In any case, it gave us a good laugh!

Yes, it’s a win that will do the team a world of good!
