Samuel Ersson is starting in net for the Flyers today (November 28, 2025) on Black Friday. The Flyers are on the road against the New York Islanders at 4 p.m. ET, breaking their long-standing tradition of home Black Friday games due to scheduling conflicts with the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFL matchup against the Chicago Bears.

This marks Vladar’s 8th start of the 2025-26 season, where he’s posted a 3-2-2 record, 3.13 GAA, and .850 save percentage. The Islanders (projected opponent stats: averaging 2.8 goals per game early in the season) will provide a solid test, but Ersson’s recent form—including a win over the St. Louis Blues where he made key saves—has him in strong position.
