Newly signed forward Alexandre Texier will make his debut with the Canadiens this afternoon against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Texier, 26, became a free agent on Sunday after the St. Louis Blues put him on waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
The 6-foot-1 winger had an assist in eight games with the Blues this year but hasn’t played since Nov. 6 and was assigned to the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds on Friday.
Arber Xhekaj will also re-enter the lineup after he was a healthy scratch for Wednesday’s win against the Utah Mammoth.
Rookies Jared Davidson and Adam Engstrom will be scratches.
Anaheim Ducks
Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal will be out 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced.
