The Calgary Flames have signed general manager Craig Conroy to a two-year extension, the team announced.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this hockey club,” stated Conroy, in a team release. “We have made important strides the last two years, and I believe in the culture of this team. We are excited about the future, and we are all committed to do everything we can to bring success to this franchise.”

Conroy has been a part of the Flames front office since his retirement as an active player following the 2010-11 season. The 54-year-old began as a special assistant to then GM Jay Feaster and was promoted to assistant general manager in 2014. He spent nine years in the role before becoming general manager in 2023, following the departure of Brad Treliving.

The Flames have totalled a 125- 107 – 39 record in parts of four seasons with Conroy at the helm. The club did not reach the postseason in any of his first three seasons as GM and currently sit last in the Pacific Division with an 8-14-3 record.

The Potsdam, N.Y., native had two separate stints with the Flames during his playing career from 2000 to 2004 and then again from 2007 to 2011. Conroy recorded a career-high 27 goals and 75 points during the 2001-02 season while with the Flames.

He tallied 182 goals and 542 points in 1,009 career NHL games with the Flames, St. Louis Blues, Los Angeles Kings, and Montreal Canadiens.

The Flames also announced that president Don Maloney, senior vice-president of Hockey Operations/Assistant General Manager Dave Nonis and vice-president of hockey operations/Assistant General Manager Brad Pascall have all previously signed two-year contract extensions.
