The Philadelphia Flyers (13-7-3)play the second leg of a metropolitan back-to-back, as they head to Newark, New Jersey, to take on the Devils (16-7-1). It is the Flyers’ second meeting with the Devils in five games.
Philadelphia is coming off a 4-3 shootout win vs. the New York Islanders on Friday. The Flyers got out to a quick 3-0 lead, but eventually let the Islanders even the score. It took a shootout, but Trevor Zegras and Sam Ersson did what they do best and won the game for the Flyers in penalty shots. That makes it four wins for Philadelphia in its last five games.
The Devils also played on the road on Friday. New Jersey travelled up to Buffalo, New York, to take on the Sabres, earning the 5-0 shutout win.
New Jersey is 3-2-0 in its last five games, winning its last three since losing to the Flyers in South Philly last Saturday.
Saturday’s puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at the Prudential Center. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Things to watch
Tyson Foerster has been on an absolute heater. The young winger has five goals in the last five games, including two in his previous two games, and two the last time the Flyers met the Devils. Foerster now leads the team in goals. Look for him to extend that streak on Saturday.
Sticking with Foerster, his line with Noah Cates and Travis Konecny has become the Flyers’ most reliable line as of late. They are, of course, a line to keep an eye on in this game. However, one thing I would like to see is more balanced scoring, with every line getting involved, like the last time these two met.
In that previous meeting, the first period had some tempers flare. The final 40 minutes of that game were a lot calmer. However, when two teams meet in such a small period of time, tensions tend to be a lot higher. One battle I am particularly watching is Matvei Michkov and Arseny Gritsyuk. The two young Russians (who were teammates with SKA St. Petersburg for one game in 2023/24) seemed to be going at it in that first period. Maybe they pick up where things were left off.
Lastly, Dan Vladar should be expected to be in goal on Saturday because of the back-to-back. He has been nothing shy of excellent this season. He played a really good game last time out vs. the Devils. Look for him to continue building that case for the Olympics.
