The Boston Bruins face the Detroit Red Wings tonight. They’re coming off a 6-2 loss to the Rangers yesterday afternoon. Today they placed defenseman Henri Jokiharju on injured reserve and recalled defenseman Michael Callahan from Providence of the AHL. Callahan was assigned to Providence yesterday when Casey Mittelstadt was activated off injured reserve and Georgii Merkulov was recalled from Providence. David Pastrnak will not play again tonight and Pavel Zach will be a game-time decision.

Henri Jokiharju
The Bruins acquired Jokiharju from the Sabres last season at the trade deadline. This season, in 25 games, he has recorded six assists and is minus-5. He had 19 blocked shots and 13 total hits. Last season in 18 games for the Bruins he had four assists, and was a plus-seven. He had 22 blocked shots and 15 total hits.

Michael Callahan
Callahan in three games for Boston didn’t record a point and was a minus-two. He had six blocked shots and three total hits. In 12 games at Providence, he had two assists and was a plus-six. In 20 career NHL games, he has scored a goal and is a minus-seven. He has 12 blocked shots and eight total hits.
