The Detroit Red Wings complete their holiday weekend back-to-back on Saturday night, as they pay a visit to the Boston Bruins.
Both teams participated in some Black Friday action. The Red Wings lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in a marquee Atlantic Division matchup, while the Bruins fell to the New York Rangers.
The Red Wings are still far away from proving they are a lock to make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2016. However, there are many reasons that this team could end the drought. From veteran scoring threats like Patrick Kane and captain Dylan Larkin to young and talented rookies, the team hopes to keep itself in the running for a postseason spot.
The Red Wings face off with a Bruins team that is much improved after a disappointing 2024-25 season. Boston finished at the bottom of the Atlantic, but has turned things around thanks to a variety of contributors.
