According to an NHL insider, a blockbuster trade between the Detroit Red Wings and the Vancouver Canucks involving Quinn Hughes could go down.

Many key veterans could end up switching teams, which makes the situation quite interesting to follow.

A lot could go down in Vancouver in the coming weeks or months, and a new report even suggested that a blockbuster trade could go down between the Canucks and the Detroit Red Wings involving none other than Quinn Hughes.

Blockbuster Trade Scenario Suggested By NHL Insider David Pagnotta

Quinn Hughes’ value on the trade market would be very high if the Canucks were to decide to trade him, especially with his $7,850,000 AAV contract expiring at the end of next season.

Many teams would be interested in getting him, but not all teams could afford him.

According to The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta, the Red Wings have what it takes, and if they were looking to get Hughes, they could make a package with Lucas Raymond as the centerpiece:

“Detroit has a lot of different assets, I think Vancouver…I think they’re gonna want immediate star value if they’re moving out Quinn Hughes, so I look to a guy like Lucas Raymond as the centerpiece.”

To acquire a superstar like Hughes on the trade market, any team would need to part ways with significant assets.

Shipping Lucas Raymond to Vancouver would be a tough blow in Detroit, but if it’s in return for a player like Quinn Hughes, the pill could be easier to swallow.
