The San Jose Sharks hit the road for a quick one-game trip to Las Vegas. After playing the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 regulation win that included some scrapping, the Sharks hopped on a plane and headed out to Sin City. While it’s a quick turnaround for the Sharks, the good news for Team Teal is that the Vegas Golden Knights are also on the second half of back-to-back games, so aside from the travel factor, both teams should be equally fatigued.
The revenge factor should add extra motivation for San Jose to win this game. The two teams opened San Jose’s season at SAP Center in October. San Jose was leading well into the third period until a fluky bounce beat Alex Nedeljkovic to tie the game. Then there was that misplayed puck in overtime that led to an easy overtime winner for Vegas. It was a brutal way to start the season after such a promising start for the Sharks.
This is the second of four meetings between Vegas and San Jose. They will play again on Dec. 23 and Jan. 1, 2026.
With Yaroslav Askarov taking the win in yesterday’s game against the Canucks, we expect to see Nedeljkovic in the net for the Sharks tonight. This could be a good chance for Ned to get some redemption that he’s looking for as well.
As for Vegas, the Golden Knights lost 4-1 at home to the Montreal Canadiens yesterday. Mark Stone scored in the third period, but it was very much too little too late for Vegas. The Golden Knights currently have a 10-6-8 record with 28 points in the Pacific Division. Don’t look now, but the Sharks have a 12-10-3 record with 27 points. They’re ranked fourth and fifth in the Pacific as of this morning.
Jack Eichel is the team’s top scorer with 31 points in 24 games. Eichel and Pavel Dorofeyev share the team goal-scoring lead with 11 goals apiece. With Adin Hill injured, Akira Schmid and Carl Lindbom have been sharing the net. As if you need another reason to hate the Golden Knights, that’s going to change on Dec. 1, when the team is expected to recall Carter Hart from the AHL. But since we’ll see either Schmid or Lindbom tonight, we can only hate them a little bit. Schmid is 9-2-4 this season with a 2.51 goals against average and .896 save percentage. Lindbom is 0-4-2 with a 3.16 goals against average and .872 save percentage. Schmid played last night, so Lindbom is likely to play tonight.
San Jose Sharks lines tonight
With Yaroslav Askarov playing last night, look for Alex Nedeljkovic in the net tonight. There will be changes on defense, no surprise that Dickinson will be sitting since he played last night and it’s the second night of back-to-back games. It also sounds like Vincent Desharnais is injured. San Jose Hockey Now’s Sheng Peng reports the following lines:
