FARGO — Elijah Enger scored three goals including one shorthanded as Fargo North dominated Bismarck Legacy 8-3 on Saturday in North Dakota boys hockey at John E. Carlson Coliseum.

Payton Rohrich added a goal and two assists for the Spartans.

After Andrew Schiltz put North up 3-1 in the second period, the Spartans erupted with a five-goal third. Along with two by Enger, Conner Amundson, Jack Barsch and Chase Larson tallied.

Jonah Luckenbill had 24 saves for Legacy while Tate Grande made 19 stops for North.

Moorhead’s strong second period downs Roseau

ROSEAU, Minn. — Joey Cullen had two goals and an assist as Moorhead scored three times in the second period en route to a 6-2 win over Roseau on Saturday in Minnesota boys hockey.

Zac Zimmerman had three assists for the top-ranked Spuds.

Evan Wanner opened the scoring in the first and after Jude Whittrock tied the game for Roseau with a power-play goal early in the second period, Moorhead grabbed control. Cullen’s first goal came on the power-play and Tyden Bergeson and Michael Herman followed with tallies.

Zak Devig increased Moorhead’s lead to 5-1 at 4:19 of the third period and just over a minute later, Cullen scored his second of the game.

Maddox Gregoire stopped 11 shots for Moorhead while Brendan Simmons had 31 saves for the Rams.
