Sport: NHL
It can often be difficult for fantasy hockey managers to decide which players to target on the waiver wire during a week where several teams play four games each. However, the next seven days should be a no-brainer for most, with three of the NHL’s best teams on paper having both a full schedule and beneficial matchups.

Top Fantasy Hockey Schedules for Week 9
Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars’ recent dominance undoubtedly makes them the best option for fantasy managers looking for extra offence this week. Although all-stars like Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson are rostered in almost every fantasy league, forwards such as Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn are two notable players who could be found on waivers. Overall, the Stars have multiple forwards that are not only producing on a consistent basis but also provide peripheral value in the form of hits, blocks, or face-offs.
Dallas is also nearly undefeated in their last 10 games, and it doesn’t seem like their recent success will stop anytime soon. This week, they will face the New York Rangers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the San Jose Sharks, all of which have been inconsistent and some of the league’s worst when it comes to scoring.
Colorado Avalanche
Like Dallas, the Colorado Avalanche should also be considered a primary option for fantasy owners this week, with the team still having just one regulation loss this year. While Brock Nelson and Gabriel Landeskog are strong forward choices for this week, there aren’t many defensemen worth picking up on the Avalanche, meaning it could be a race for some of their best point-getters.
What also makes Colorado so attractive this week is the strength of their schedule, with three of their four upcoming opponents having been middling in their last 10 games. Managers should especially take advantage of the Avalanche’s matchup with the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday, who are not only struggling but have the worst goals against average in the league.
Winnipeg Jets
Although the Winnipeg Jets have found it difficult to pick up wins due to the absence of Connor Hellebuyck, this week should mark the beginning of a turnaround for them. The Jets enter battle with the Buffalo Sabres twice this week, who currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. However, they’ll also play the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers, who can’t seem to keep the puck out of their net as of late.
Therefore, this week is the perfect opportunity for fantasy managers to capitalize on the Jets offense, with Gabriel Vilardi and Johnathan Toews being favorable options. Additionally, if Eric Comrie is still available, he’ll be leading the Jets in net for most of the week and should have no problem picking up wins for fantasy owners.
Along with Dallas, Colorado, and Winnipeg, the Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals, and Utah Mammoth also play four times this week and have their fair share of weaker opponents. Make sure to return next Monday for schedule advice at the halfway point of most fantasy hockey seasons.
