Despite a tougher end to the road trip for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, management still received some good news on Monday morning.

The Ottawa Senators fell to the Dallas Stars by a score of 6-1 and have only one win in their last four games.

So not only did the Canadiens’ next opponents take a beating, and already have fragile confidence, but this loss by the Sens to the Dallas Stars also allowed the Habs to strengthen their hold on third place in the Atlantic Division.

Good news for the Montreal Canadiens with the loss suffered by the Ottawa Senators

It’s excellent for the Atlantic Division standings.

“With the Sens losing vs the Stars tonight, the Habs remain 3rd in the Atlantic division and the only Canadian team currently in a playoff spot.

MTL will face OTT at the Bell Centre on Tuesday.”

Tuesday night’s game will therefore be a very important one for the Eastern Conference standings and for the NHL playoff race, so it’s really shaping up to be intense, which can only be good news for fans.

In your opinion, who will go further this season, the Montreal Canadiens or the Ottawa Senators?

Brady Tkachuk, 26, has collected 4 points in 5 games this season since returning to action.
