Cal Foote, son of Vancouver Canucks’ Adam Foote, signs new contract for remainder of 2025-26 season

In a post on social media this morning, the American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves announced that they’ve agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign with defenseman Cal Foote.

“Defenseman Cal Foote has signed a standard AHL contract.” the Wolves said on X.

Foote, 26, was a first round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning back in 2017 and has gone on to appear in 145 games in the National Hockey League with them, the Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils where he’s registered 20 points (five goals, 15 assists), 137 penalty minutes and is a plus-24.

Last season, the Denver, Colorado native headed overseas to continue his career and signed a one-year deal with Liptovsky Mikulas HK in the Slovak Extraliga and it turned out to be a solid move for him as he finished third in his team in points and first among defenseman with 30 in 38 games, however they finished in 11th place in the league standings and missed out on the playoffs.

It’s unclear as to when Cal Foote will make his season debut for the Chicago Wolves, but it could potentially come as early as Wednesday night when they host the Manitoba Moose, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.
