The Rangers’ loss of Adam Fox for the foreseeable future has the potential to derail their entire 2025-26 season.

Through the first 27 games of a campaign that has already cast doubt on the team’s capabilities and direction, Fox’s left shoulder injury and arrival on long-term injured reserve is arguably the most significant blow the Blueshirts lineup could have sustained at such a critical time.

The Rangers have classified Fox as week-to-week, but the 27-year-old is going to be sidelined for at least 10 games and 24 days on LTIR. That means the earliest Fox can return to the lineup is after Christmas.

Fox has been one of the Rangers’ most consistent players, leading the team in points (26) along with Artemi Panarin.
