New York Rangers forward Juuso Parssinen will have a chance to represent his country, Finland, at the IIHF World Championships. Parssinen had originally been passed over by Suomi at the Four Nations Face-Off.Juuso Parssinen didn’t get a chance to represent his country during the Four Nations Face-Off. Now, the depth Rangers forward will have a chance to suit up and play some hockey during the postseason.
The tournament begins on May 9th, and Finland will help kick off the event by taking on Austria.
The games themselves will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark.
In Stockholm, the main host for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, you’ll be able to experience the games of group A, two quarter-finals, both semi-finals, the bronze and gold medal games. In Herning, Denmark, the games for group B and two of the four quarter-finals will be held.
While Parssinen wasn’t able to be much of a factor in the Rangers’ success this season, he can help push his team to a gold, silver, or bronze medal depending on their level of effort.
This season, he played a total of 33 NHL games, scoring a total of 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) split between the Nashville Predators and New York Rangers.
Parssinen’s $775K contract expires at the end of the season, which means he’ll be an RFA and under team control at age 24.
He is another free agent who GM Chris Drury will have to make a decision on in July, whether to qualify, trade, or let him walk.
