Former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Jarred Tinordi is not ready to call it quits.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Tinordi is hoping to continue his career after getting cleared following off-season knee surgery.
Tinordi, 33, is currently an unrestricted free agent (UFA). This is after the big defenseman played in 30 American Hockey League (AHL) games last season with the Calgary Wranglers, where he recorded one goal, four assists, five points, 29 penalty minutes, and a plus-5 rating.
Before spending this past season with the Wranglers, Tinordi played the two previous campaigns with the Blackhawks. In 96 games with the Blackhawks over that span, the 6-foot-6 defenseman recorded two goals, 15 assists, 17 points, 104 penalty minutes, 162 blocks, and 310 hits.
Tinordi has not played at the NHL level since the 2023-24 season with the Blackhawks, but is looking for the chance to change that. Time will tell if the Burnsville, Minnesota native will find his next landing spot from here.
In 205 career NHL games split between the Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Nashville Predators, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, and Blackhawks, Tinordi has recorded four goals, 26 assists, 30 points, 298 blocks, and 552 hits.
