The 12-13-0 Winnipeg Jets are set to face off against the 13-8-3 Montreal Canadiens from the Bell Centre on Wednesday evening.

The all-Canadian, inter-conference affair will be the final test of Winnipeg’s dismal five-game road trip, to which the team once again enters the final game of a lengthy road swing wth just one victory to show.

Having most recently fallen 5-1 to Buffalo on Monday, the Jets will be looking for some retribution against Montreal in their lone appearance in Quebec this season.

After the game they will fly home for a quick stop at Canada Life Centre on Friday against those very same Sabres, before taking right back off to Edmonton for a late-night, Saturday contest with Connor McDavid and the Oilers.

The Jets will then return home for good, where they will play every second day for eight days against Dallas, Boston, Washington and Ottawa – all of whom currently hold down playoff spots – something the Jets do not.

Winnipeg will make some lineup changes heading into Wednesday’s showdown, as the team will look to be quicker off the get-go. Forward Cole Koepke and defenceman Elias Salomonsson will draw back into the fold, while Colin Miller, Luke Schenn and Gus Nyquist will be the three odd men out.

Neal Pionk will also make his return to game action following a short stay on the injured list. He and the rookie Salomonsson will look to add some speed to what has been a rather sluggish back-end thus far for Winnipeg.

Eric Comrie will look to rebound following a tough outing on Monday.
