Return of the Mav

The Mammoth recalled Maveric Lamoureux on Wednesday, and the young defenseman is jumping right back into the lineup. Lamoureux played 15 games for Utah last season; however, tonight’s game will be his season debut. This is an opportunity for Lamoureux to show his hard work in Tucson this season.

“A big focus on my defensive game,” Lamoureux said of his focus this season. “Just fix my gaps, closing things even quicker. My physical play too. I feel that was the biggest part I had to work on, and I feel like I did a great job doing it.”

“I want him to be physical,” Tourigny said of Lamoureux. “I want him to move his feet, make good reads defensively, be simple with his puck decision, but obviously his physicality has to find a way to bring that element and being lethal as well.”

With a big smile on his face, Lamoureux also shared following Wednesday’s morning skate, how happy he is to be back in the NHL for another opportunity.

It’s always special being back here,” Lamoureux shared. “It’s the best league in the world. It’s the place you want to be. So, coming back here, I’m always going to be smiling. I’m just really happy to be here. It means the world to be here again.”
