The Philadelphia Flyers are at a crossroads in their season, currently holding the lst wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, a common denominator they have with the Vancouver Canucks is their head coach Rick Tocchet, who is apparently interested in some players on the Canucks.

“Ultimately, the Canucks were unable to find a second line centerman, or any center for that matter, in the offseason, with David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reporting last month that the club never came close to bringing one in.”-Jaxon

Philadelphia Flyers after Vancouver Canucks center.

NHL Trade Alert posted on X the interest in a centerman for the Flyers. However, there is no specification of which center, and since the Canucks are short on centers, it’s a little confusing as to who Tocchet is referring to, even fans are scratching their heads at this one.

32 Thoughts (Dec 1): Philly is looking for a C. Vancouver has players Rick Tocchet likes and Elliotte was told to keep an eye on Philly when it comes to Vancouver players, it’s just a matter of which players they are.

Many of the comments are suggesting Teddy Blueger, who fits Tocchet’s archetype of player, a responsible two-way forward, who isn’t flashy and makes the said “textbook” plays. But it would go against what the Canucks want, they have zero center depth and they do not want to rebuild, so there is something contradicting with this rumour.

Tocc hates Pettersson? And the Canucks don’t have any other NHL C’s? So idk what this is implying

Regardless if a deal does get made, the Canucks would likely get draft picks in return, since it’s unlikely the Flyers deal away any of their young talent at this time. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
