Different month, same results for Red Wings goaltending prospect Sebastian Cossa.
Named the AHL’s Goalie of the Month for November, Cossa started December with 30 saves in a 4-1 win against the Cleveland Monsters. The triumph raised Cossa’s record to 9-1 and the Griffins are now 17-1-0-1 in their best start in franchise history. The Griffins are now 10-1.
Cossa’s goals-against average is now down to 1.51, while is save percentage has grown to .945. Cossa is certainly deserving of an NHL shot. The only question is when the Red Wings will give it to him. They are not going to call him up to be a backup. If they promote him, it will be to play him.
