The Kraken’s revolving door of injuries continues to rotate.
Seattle head coach Lane Lambert announced after practice on Wednesday that big forward Mason Marchment won’t be participating in the game against the Oilers in Edmonton on Thursday night.
Marchment didn’t make the trip.
Lambert didn’t elaborate, not even to the point of distinguishing between upper body or lower body.
“We’ll just leave it at that,” he said.
In Saturday night’s 4-0 loss to the Oilers at Climate Pledge Arena, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound Seattle winger was public enemy number-one after a giant early hit on Edmonton defenseman Darnell Nurse. Those two picked up misconducts near the end of the game after continuously coming together in conflict.
Marchment also picked up a goalie interference penalty in the 1st period when he ran into Stuart Skinner.
Along the way Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl earned a minor penalty after elbowing Marchment in the head. Even though Draisaitl’s violent follow-up elbowing attempt missed, it appears Marchment was worse for wear.
For now, Lambert said the 30-year-old forward should be available again for the home game against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night.
Up front, Seattle is already without fellow winger Jaden Schwartz for six weeks with a lower body injury.
