Fans, media, and Mariners legends gathered at T-Mobile Park on Aug. 9, 2025, to honor Ichiro Suzuki. The newly-enshrined Hall of Famer became just the third Seattle Mariner to have his number retired. Ichiro’s #51 now hangs alongside the numbers of Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martinez, and Jackie Robinson. In front of a crowd of more than 40,000, Ichiro addressed the ballpark and expressed gratitude to members of the organization, the ownership team, former teammates, and the fans.
