Doughty has been on IR since blocking a shot with his left foot in mid-November against the Ottawa Senators.
The 35-year-old defenceman told Dooley that he’s feeling good and feels like his cardio is where it needs to be to make his return.
Doughty had two goals, six assists and a plus-six through 19 games in his 18th NHL season prior to the injury.
Meanwhile, Warren Foegele is also expected to make his return to the lineup against Chicago, per Dooley.
Foegele, 29, has missed the past three games with an upper-body injury.
Through 18 games in his second season with the Kings, the Markham, Ont., native has four goals and no assists.
The Kings sit third in the Pacific Division with a 12-7-7 record and 31 points in 27 games.
