The centre has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday’s contest against the New York Rangers due to a lower-body injury, the Ottawa Senators announced.
Pinto left the contest mid-way through the opening period after taking a hard hit into the boards by Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad.
The Senators centre was seen labouring on his way to the bench before eventually exiting to the locker room and ultimately being ruled out.
He exited after just 5:07 of ice time.
Pinto’s absence will surely be felt as the 25-year-old has yet to miss a game this season, leading Ottawa in goals (12) and fourth on the roster for points (18).
The Senators entered Thursday with a 13-9-4 record, sitting third in the Atlantic Division.
