The Montreal Canadiens started this season on a high note, ruling over the Atlantic Division for a long time before falling into a slump. Now the team sits second in the standings, having recovered from a two-game losing streak by defeating the Winnipeg Jets 3-2.
The shootout victory at the Bell Centre on Wednesday came as a massive relief for Canadiens fans, who had felt disillusioned due to a largely unsuccessful November campaign. As the Canadian rivals battled it out, star defenseman Lane Hutson’s girlfriend, Kylie Roberts, marked her presence along with other Canadiens WAGs at the Habs’ home arena.

The star of the show at Bell Centre was undoubtedly Cole Caufield: with an assist, the 24-year-old winger has extended his point streak to nine games, the longest active point streak in the NHL. Juraj Slafkovsky and Oliver Kapanen scored, and goalie Jakub Dobes made 29 saves, enabling the Canadiens to cruise past Western Conference rivals, the Jets.
As the fate of the battle was decided, Slafkovsky couldn’t help but admire Caufield’s immense contribution to the team this season. The winger admired the 24-year-old’s playmaking abilities, stating that he does not get nearly as appreciation for that as he should.
“I think he is an underrated playmaker, honestly. Like obviously he has a good shot, but he can make all the little plays, all the slips and stuff. So he’s a perfect goal-scorer, but he’s also a great playmaker,” Slafkovsky stated, as reported by NHL correspondent Sean Farrell.
However, at the end of the day, what truly matters is the team effort. Behind the players’ performance on the ice is the silent support of their loved ones. In that spirit, Roberts just had to be present to cheer for 21-year-old blueliner, Hutson. She showed up in all her glory and shared updates from the game on her social media for fans.

Roberts shared pictures of a bracelet with “48” carved on it: an unparalleled act of love that shows her admiration for Hutson and the sport of hockey.
Defenseman Noah Dobson’s wife, Alexa Dobson, was also spotted wearing a similar bracelet with “53” carved on it. Slafkovsky’s girlfriend, Angelie Bourgeois-Pelletier, and Brendan Gallagher’s wife, Emma Fortin, were seen sporting similar ornaments.
As the Canadiens prep to face division rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs, on December 6 at the Scotiabank Arena, they need to find a way to remain focused. After a prolonged period of struggles, the Habs cannot afford to lose their rhythm again.
