The Avs were bound to have one of these games eventually. They gave up a ton of shots, and lost to the New York Islanders.

What a run it’s been this season. But now the Avs have to rebound fast to get back on track before an early puck drop on Saturday.

Montreal Hockey Now: The Habs have been in the market for a No. 2 centerman for well over a year. That hasn’t changed. But now, they’re rumored to be a team interested in a winger from Vancouver.

Detroit Hockey Now: The Red Wings and Blue Jackets broke a power play record in the second period on Thursday. Detroit had a late lead but couldn’t hold on. Columbus took the game in the shootout.

Boston Hockey Now: Just over a year since being fired, Jim Montgomery returned to Boston as head coach of the St. Louis Blues. His return was spoiled, and the lowly Blues lost again.
