The Vegas Golden Knights (12-6-8) face the New Jersey Devils (16-10-1) Friday. Puck drop from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, is set for 7 p.m. ET (NHL Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Golden Knights vs. Devils odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
2024-25 season series: Vegas won 2-0
VGK is coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday as -254 home favorites. RW Ivan Barbachev scored his ninth tally of the season and added an assist. He’s now third on the team in points with 22 behind RW Mitch Marner (25) and C Jack Eichel (32). The Knights have won 2 straight to end a 4-game slide. They continue to roll without starting G Adin Hill (lower body).
The Devils have lost 3 straight after a 3-0 shutout to the Dallas Stars Wednesday. They were -115 home favorites, but couldn’t crack G Jake Oettinger. That ended a run of 6 straight games with 3+ goals. LW Jesper Bratt leads the bunch with 26 points as they continue to skate without C Jack Hughes (finger).

Carter Hart (1-0-0, 2.77 GAA, .900 SV%) vs. Jacob Markstrom (7-5-1, 3.55 GAA, .875 SV%)
The Knights recalled G Jesper Vikman from the AHL, which leads me to believe they’re rolling with Hart after his successful debut and looking to move Akira Schmid. Hart stopped 27 of 30 shots in the shootout win Tuesday in his first action since 2024. He stopped 31 of 35 against New Jersey the last time he faced them in a overtime loss 2 years ago.
Markstrom’s numbers are ugly. The 35-year-old was an elite tendy that is trending in the wrong direction. He stopped 25 of 28 in the 3-0 loss to Dallas Wednesday. He stopped 22 of 24 against Vegas in a 2-0 loss last season.
Golden Knights at Devils picks and predictionsPrediction
Golden Knights 4, Devils 3
I like the GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-125) here, and they’re at a decent price. The boost Hart gave them will show. He was on top of his game before the Team Canada stuff came to the forefront, and this team is poised for a run.
PASS. When/if Hart’s props become available, I’d look to take his Over on saves with a ceiling of 27.5. The Devs are ninth in the league with 29.5 SOGs per game.
Both teams are 4-5-1 O/U in the last 10. As mentioned, the Devils put 3 in the net 6 straight games before their latest tilt, and Vegas has tallied 4 in 2 straight.
Go OVER 6 (-110).
