In the midst of an extended slump, the Los Angeles Kings are not considering a coaching change, TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun reports.
The Kings (12-8-7) are third in the Pacific Division entering play on Friday, sparking rumours that third-year head coach Jim Hiller is on the seat.
LeBrun reached out to Kings general manager Ken Holland, who said that “there’s zero truth” to reports that the Kings are mulling a change at the top.
Reached out to Ken Holland regarding today’s speculation of a potential coaching change in L.A. and the Kings GM says “there’s zero truth” to that.

The Kings dropped a 2-1 decision to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, marking their third loss in their last four contests and sixth in their last eight games.
Offensive production has been the prime concern for the Kings in this extended cold spell. The team has scored two or fewer goals in five of their last six games.
With a four-goal outburst against the Anaheim Ducks at the end of November accounting for a lot of the production, the Kings have scored 16 goals over their last nine contests. Removing that game, the Kings have 12 goals across the other eight.
On the season, Los Angeles ranks 29th in scoring league-wide at 2.56 goals per game.
Since taking over as bench boss in Los Angeles, Hiller has led the team to the playoffs in both full seasons – though they have been eliminated in the first round by the Edmonton Oilers both times.
Just beyond the quarter point of the season, there is still plenty of time for Hiller and the team to correct course and push toward a third consecutive playoff appearance under Hiller – and fifth overall.
