Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen has yet to play this season, as he is still recovering from the triceps surgery he had back in March.
However, Ristolainen has now taken a positive step with his injury recovery.
According to NBC’s Jordan Hall, Ristolainen was on the ice for the Flyers’ morning skate in a non-contact jersey. Hall also noted that this was Ristolainen’s first time skating with the club this season.Â
Seeing Ristolainen back on the ice in a non-contact jersey is certainly promising. He is a key defenseman on the Flyers’ blueline, so him getting back on the ice with the team is good to see.Â
Ristolaine is a player who the Flyers are undoubtedly hoping can return to game action soon, as he is a key part of their blueline. This is especially so when noting that the Flyers are in a tight Metropolitan Division standings and looking to stay ahead of clubs like the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, and Columbus Blue Jackets.Â
Ristolainen appeared in 63 games this past season with the Flyers, where he posted four goals, 15 assists, 19 points, 94 blocks, 97 hits, and a plus-3 rating.Â
