The Ottawa Senators are just one point out of a playoff spot despite playing without captain Brady Tkachuk for much of the season.
They are a good team, and my Blues vs. Senators predictions and NHL picks expect that to shine through Saturday night on home soil.

The Ottawa Senators have done an exceptional job of limiting chances of late. They’ve allowed 17.14 expected goals at 5-on-5 over the past 10 games, which is the lowest total in the league.
They’re making it very difficult for opponents to break through and generate quality looks with any sort of regularity. Ottawa’s stout defensive play should be especially problematic for the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues sit 26th in expected goals and have scored only 15 times at 5-on-5 over their last 10. Only the Kings have found twine fewer times.
We should see Ottawa’s defense flex its muscles, squeezing the life out of this Blues offense and giving up very little. If the Senators can do so, they’ll have a great chance of winning given the outlook on offense.
They’re 14th in goals this season despite playing the majority of the year without captain Brady Tkachuk. He’s scored at least 29 goals in four consecutive seasons, so getting his offense back will only boost an already competent offense.
The Blues rank 29th in team save percentage and have struggled to keep the puck out all year, which should remain the case in this matchup.
