Chicago Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen will miss Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings after sustaining a facial injury in Thursday’s matchup, according to Sun-Times reporter Ben Pope.
The 31-year-old winger was struck in the face by a puck late in the third period of Chicago’s 2-1 victory over Los Angeles on Dec. 4, forcing him to exit the contest.
Teravainen has been a key offensive contributor in his second stint with the team. Through 27 games in the 2025-26 season, he has tallied six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. His absence comes as Chicago (12-9-6) aims to build on its last win entering the rematch at Crypto.com Arena.
The injury occurred with under a minute remaining when Teravainen was hit by a shot from Kings defenseman Adrian Kempe.
Chicago’s depth will be tested without Teravainen, a versatile forward known for his playmaking and two-way game. The Blackhawks, sitting fourth in the Central Division, face a Kings team (12-8-5) looking to rebound from the earlier defeat.
