A new report this week has revealed when changes could be coming to the Vancouver Canucks’ management group after a poor start to the NHL’s 2025-26 season.
“My big question is, are you gonna let this management team do the big cuts? I had someone from another team…that said they had heard some rumblings that potentially wholesale changes…management, scouting…could be coming.” Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects said recently.
New report reveals when changes could be coming to Vancouver Canucks management
“I’m hearing that if this slide continues, you could see some changes within the team’s management group after Christmas.” Marjanovich said.
If the Vancouver Canucks were to fire Jim Rutherford and/or Patrik Allvin at some point during the season, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise given how the club has performed during their tenure in the Lower Mainland.
The duo are currently in their fourth full season, fifth in total, with the Vancouver Canucks and only have one appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to show for it and whether it’s going to be a full-on rebuild or retool, it’s safe to say that fans of this club would rather a different management group handle that.
We’ll have to wait and see what the coming weeks have in store for the Vancouver Canucks, both on and off the ice, but a big change is needed for this organization and the first domino to fall might be in the front office.
