The Edmonton Oilers’ search for goaltending help was confirmed on Saturday night when Elliotte Friedman reported the latest on it during the “Saturday Headlines” segment.

Friedman shared new details on the Oilers’ reported interest in Pittsburgh Penguins starter Tristan Jarry.

The Oilers were first linked to Jarry by ESPN’s Kevin Weekes, who reported on Wednesday that the goaltender was “drawing significant interest” around the NHL, with Edmonton potentially leading the race.

Friedman, however, made it clear that while there is indeed interest, the situation remains difficult for Edmonton to navigate financially.
