The Detroit Red Wings will have an advantage tonight over the Vancouver Canucks, as the team is missing a star forward, Elias Pettersson.
Monday night at Rogers Arena, the Detroit Red Wings look to add another win to the bucket.
At 3rd in the Atlantic Division, and with their bottom six firing up, they will have an advantage on the ice tonight.
This will be another game Pettersson has missed due to his being evaluated, according to head coach Adam Foote:
“He is being evaluated upper-body still, so we should know tonight or tomorrow morning.”
The Canucks will miss his presence in the lineup tonight, as someone who is tied for the team lead in 22 points scored and has played a total of 20:37 time on ice per night.
The Detroit Red Wings head to Rogers Arena and take on the bottom-dwelling Vancouver Canucks
This should be an easy-win scenario for a Detroit Red Wings team that has been a rollercoaster ride. They’ve gone 1-1 in their last two games and, with the help of their depth, defeated the Seattle Kraken at home.
Tonight will be different, as the Red Wings won’t have to contend with a red-hot Canucks lineup that is missing Elias Pettersson.
But they will have to figure out how to stop defenseman Quinn Hughes, who is on their trade radar. In 24 games this season, he’s scored 22 points (2-20) and will be the anchor of the team tonight.
Captain Dylan Larkin leads the team in goals at this point in the season, with 15 and 31 points. While top-line forward Lucas Raymond leads the way with 21 assists and 31 points (10-21).
If the Red Wings play up to their true capabilities, there should be no question of how the game turns out tonight.
