Head Coach Adam Foote and the Vancouver Canucks have made a big change to their lineup ahead of Monday night’s contest against the Detroit Red Wings.

After taking down the Minnesota Wild on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday night, the Vancouver Canucks are back in action tonight for the third game of a four-game homestand as Moritz Seider and the Detroit Red Wings come to town.

Hoglander suffered a lower-body injury in the preseason that required surgery and was given an eight-to-ten week timeline to return to game action and it appears that his season debut will be coming tonight against Detroit.

According to Adam Foote, Nils Hoglander will make his 2025-26 season debut tonight against the Detroit Red Wings and is expected to skate on the fourth line with Drew O’Connor and Arshdeep Bains.

Foote also confirmed that Kevin Lankinen, who is coming off a 4-1 loss to the Utah Mammoth on Friday night, will be between the pipes for the Canucks tonight, marking his 16th start of the season.

“Nils Höglander is in for the #Canucks tonight. Lankinen starts. The team is still waiting for news on EP40’s status and should know more tonight or tomorrow.” Brendan Batchelor said on X.

Meanwhile, Vancouver’s other three forward lines remain untouched from Saturday’s win over the Minnesota Wild, with David Kampf centering the top line, while Aatu Raty and Max Sasson assume the 2C and 3C roles, respectively.

The defensive pairings are also expected to remain the same this evening – Quinn Hughes & Filip Hronek, Elias Pettersson & Tyler Myers, as well as Marcus Pettersson & Tom Willander.

“Monday morning skate #Canucks lines

Boeser. Kämpf. Garland.
Kane. Räty. Sherwood.
DeBrusk. Sasson. Karlsson.
Höglander. O’Connor. Bains.
Reichel.

Hughes. Hronek.
EP25. Myers.
MP29. Willander.
Joseph.” Batchelor shared on X.
