Jake Waleman was listed as day to day and his return to the lineup was anticipated to be over last weekend or perhaps for tonight’s game against Buffalo. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Knoblauch has indicated that it will be at least two more weeks before Walman can return from the lineup due to a bone bruise he suffered while blocking a shot vs Tampa Bay on November 20th. Walman must have run into some sort of setback as he was projected to return to the lineup soon. Hopefully it’s just another two weeks, as the Oilers desperately need him to solidify a very shaky top four.

It was also revealed that Roslovic will be out until around Christmas. This really sucks, as he was off to a very hot start with the Oilers scoring 10 goals for 18 points in 23 games. Hopefully he can keep that momentum going when he returns from injury as he provides great depth scoring.

The Oilers have been riddled by injuries since the beginning of the season with Hyman, Waleman, Philp, Roslovic and Kapanen spending time on the IR. In part, this has contributed to the rough start to the season. When 2026 begins, the Oilers will hopefully be healed, healthy and ready for another deep playoff push.Â
