Collin Beyor will be at the helm of the Missisquoi Valley Union boys’ varsity hockey team for 2025-2026.
Q&A with Collin Beyor
What are your goals for the 2025-26 season? My goal this year and every year is to push this team into championship contention. This team is incredibly deep and has the talent at the top to compete with Division 2’s best team. We’ll get there by playing with intensity and pace, and by a strong defensive-to-offensive transition game that will be incredibly hard to defend for three periods.
Who’s returning, and what will they bring to the team? Returners start in net with sophomore Andrew Fournier, our starter and the backbone of the team. I expect he will play in about 3/4 of our games and will pave the way for our wins. Offensively and defensively, we return three seniors, seven juniors, and five sophomores. The majority of this group will be regular contributors to this team’s overall success and ability to win games. This group is led by newly named captain, Maddux Gagne, as well as alternate captains Ryan Laroche, Lucien Gilbert, and Cole Renaudette.
We also welcome four new freshmen, as well as four new sophomores, all of whom will also provide meaningful contributions on the ice and competition for ice time amongst their peers.
What do you most enjoy about coaching varsity hockey? It’s an absolute honor to be the head coach of the program that meant so much to me in my own high school varsity career. The most important part of coaching, and the part I enjoy the most, is the connection with the student-athletes. Our group will be built on character, consistency, competition, and the quest for championships. This program will build unforgettable experiences for those who are willing to do the extra work to be championship-level, high-character student-athletes, producing the highest-quality young men for life after high school is over.
