Players on the Grand Rapids boys’ hockey team have been road warriors to start the season, playing four of their first five games in foreign barns. They sat at 2-2-1 coming into Tuesday, but their lone home game up to that point was a 6-0 win over Proctor, so a return home might give the Thunderhawks the kick they need.

It was a big game at Yanmar Arena as they hosted Class A second-ranked Hibbing/Chisholm, and it was all T-Hawks in the first period, with the team leading 2-0 at the break. But the Blue Jackets scored four goals in the second and went on to win 5-2.

Grand Rapids will start on a brutal stretch of games when they host Rosemount and Moorhead this Friday and Saturday. They’ll then head to play Edina and Eden Prairie next week.
