The Detroit Red Wings’ offseason addition reaches a career-high goal streak in Monday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Forward James Van Riemsdyk of the Detroit Red Wings has found his rhythm this season.

In Monday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks on their home ice, Rogers Arena, Van Riemsdyk set a new career high.

This was his fourth game in a row where he scored a goal, giving him a 4-point game streak (4 goals). He’s collecting points like they’re going out of style, and the former 1st-round pick isn’t slowing down.

The 1000-NHL-game veteran was signed by the Red Wings during the offseason and initially missed training camp due to the birth of his newborn. But would rejoin the team in October.

Since then, he’s played 23 games this season and scored 7 points (6-1).

The Detroit Red Wings are benefiting from forward James Van Riemsdyk’s hot streak

The 1000-game NHL veteran has come out of nowhere with his recent goal streak, and it’s benefited the team greatly.

With his contributions, the team has found a reliable depth scorer in the bottom six of the lineup. Todd McLellan seems to have found the perfect combination, placing JT Compher and Michael Rasmussen on the same line as JVR.

Either way, they’ve captured lightning in a bottle, and it wouldn’t be very smart to release it now.

The Red Wings signed James Van Riemsdyk to a one-year, $1 million average annual value (AAV) contract this offseason.
