Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann made a huge error when he slashed Oliver Bjorkstrand in the head, and now, NHL Player Safety is coming down on him.

On Monday night, Bobby McMann found himself in a precarious situation after he slashed Oliver Bjorkstrand of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the head.

The play looked pretty bad, and in the end, McMann got ejected from the game, with just a few minutes left in the entire match.

This had many fans convinced that the DoPS would hand out a suspension, or at the very least, a fine. Just moments ago, we got our answer.

NHL Player Safety drops the hammer on Bobby McMann

According to the NHL Department of Player Safety’s official X account, McMann has been suspended for one game.

This was not a decision that was made lightly, but when you slash a guy across the head, you can’t expect to get off scot-free.

The Maple Leafs will now be without McMann on Thursday night, when the Leafs take on the San Jose Sharks in what will be a very important game.

As it stands, the Leafs are one win away from a playoff spot and are three points out of first place in the entire Atlantic Division.

After a rough start to the season, the Maple Leafs appear to be back in control, which is huge for this team going forward.

If they can keep up the success against the Sharks, then that will certainly lead credence to the idea that this Leafs team is actually quite good.
