The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Robby Fabbri to a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal carries an NHL salary of $775,000 and an AHL salary of $350,000 for Fabbri, who was previously playing for the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers on a professional tryout.

Fabbri joined the Checkers, the affiliate of the Florida Panthers, on Dec. 1 and posted one goal and one assist in three games.

The 29-year-old winger is week to join the Blues on Thursday in Nashville as he fills the roster spot of Jordan Kyrou, who was placed on injured reserve and labelled week-to-week Tuesday.

A native of Mississauga, Ont., Fabbri appeared in 44 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks, notching eight goals and eight assists.

Fabbri had been on a PTO with the Pittsburgh Penguins during training camp, but was not offered a contract as the season began.

Originally taken with the 21st overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft out of the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm, Fabbri has appeared in 442 career games across nine seasons with the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings and Ducks. For his career, Fabbri has 106 goals and 110 assists.

Fabbri was a member of the Blues team that won the Stanley Cup in 2019, contributing a goal in 10 playoff appearances that spring.

Internationally, Fabbri suited up for Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Toronto and Montreal, helping the team to a gold medal.
