The San Jose Sharks have plenty of promising prospects in their system. One of them is forward Filip Bystedt, as the 21-year-old has the potential to become an impactful player at the NHL level.
Bystedt showed promise this past season in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the San Jose Barracuda, as he recorded 12 goals, 19 assists, and 31 points in 50 games. However, so far this season, Bystedt is showing clear signs of improvement.

Bystedt is creating solid offense for the Barracuda this season, but especially with his playmaking. In 20 games so far this campaign, the 2022 first-round pick has posted four goals, 13 assists, and 17 points. With numbers like these, there is no question that Bystedt is having a nice start to the year in the AHL.
However, it is important to note that Bystedt is only staying hot as the campaign rolls on. Over his last nine games with the Barracuda, he has recorded three goals and 10 points. With this, the young forward is shining in a big way.
If Bystedt keeps playing so well for the Barracuda, it could very well open the door for him to get called up to the Sharks’ roster.
