Los Angeles Kings forward Warren Foegele had to literally crawl back to the bench after he lost his skate blade during their 3-2 OT loss to the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday night.
The Los Angeles Kings were beaten by the Seattle Kraken 3-2 in OT on Wednesday night, but there was a bit of a comical moment for the Kings.
Early in the first period, Foegele lost his skate blade and had to literally crawl over 50 feet back to the bench so that he could have his skate repaired:
Foegele is playing in his second year in a Kings sweater after he signed a three year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $3.5 million in 2024, coming over from the divisional foe Edmonton Oilers.
So far this year, he has six points (5G, 1A) in 22 games played.
The Kings Were Beaten 3-2 In OT By The Kraken On Wednesday Night In Seattle
The Kraken, who are still searching for consistency this year, picked up the win over the Kings, 3-2 in OT at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday night.
Both teams traded goals in the latter two periods following a scoreless first period, as Jared McCann and Alex Laferriere both scored in the second period followed by goals from Kevin Fiala and a late game-tying goal from Matty Beniers.
The Kraken then won the game after Vince Dunn scored a PPG in overtime.
Defenseman Joel Edmunsson later said that playing the Kraken was a “tough” game for him and his teammates.
Yeah, for sure. They don’t really give too much off the rush, they kind of back out, similar to us, so we knew it was going to be a game where the team that uses the offensive zone as much as they can, work the puck low, is going to come out on top. They played us well, it was a tough game.
The Kings will next play against the Caglary Flames at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
