COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Blue Jackets are getting their captain back.

The Blue Jackets activated captain Boone Jenner from injured reserve on Thursday, marking his return after missing 14 games with an upper body injury.

As a result, the team also assigned forward Luca Del Bel Belluz to the Cleveland Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate.

Jenner, 32, has been sidelined since suffering the injury at Seattle on Nov. 11. The franchise leader in games played brings a wealth of experience back to the lineup with 757 career NHL games under his belt since Columbus selected him in the second round, 37th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Dorchester, Ontario, native has recorded 202 goals and 191 assists for 393 points over his career with the Blue Jackets. This season, he appeared in 16 games before the injury, posting three goals and seven assists.

Del Bel Belluz, 22, heads back to Cleveland after appearing in 11 games with Columbus this season, recording one assist. The center has played 27 career NHL games since making his debut at the end of the 2023-24 season. In 11 games with the Monsters this season, he has tallied five goals and six assists.

Columbus returns to action tonight trying to snap a three-game losing streak when it hosts the Ottawa Senators at Nationwide Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.
