Robby Fabbri’s future in the NHL was up in the air, but now the former Stanley Cup Champion has returned to the place where he won that Cup.

For weeks now, there has been speculation over the future of former Stanley Cup winner Robby Fabbri, who sustained an injury early in pre-season this year, seeing his PTO with the Pittsburgh Penguins not convert into a full deal.

Since then, we’ve heard that the veteran winger is drawing interest as a free agent now that he’s healthy, with the 29-year old then signing a PTO with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers.

In three games with the Checkers, Fabbri had one goal and one assist, but now, with that deal seemingly running out, he’s inked a new contract in a very, very familiar place.

St. Louis Blues reunite with Robby Fabbri

According to reports, Fabbri has now inked an NHL deal with the St. Louis Blues, the team that he won the Stanley Cup with back in 2019, with the contract being a full deal, one that lasts for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.

This is the latest in a string of signings for the Blues, and while this one may go under the radar, it’s a fantastic pickup for St. Louis, a team that needs plenty of depth in their bottom-six as they continue to deal with plenty of injuries.

It’s unlikely that Fabbri finds a starring role with this team, especially as they get healthy and get their top players back, but given how good he can be in a bottom-six role, posting 16 points in 44 games a year ago for Anaheim, he’ll be a perfect fit in a very familiar place.
